If ever there were an indication of the parity now in NCAA D-I men’s hockey, it was this past weekend’s slew of upsets, with several top teams losing, including St. Cloud, UMass, and Quinnipiac, as well as a weekend sweep of North Dakota by Canisius, putting the Fighting Hawks’ at-large postseason prospects at risk.

Denver swept Western Michigan leaving the Pioneers as the only unbeaten team (5-0-1).
Jeff Jackson earned his 300th win at Notre Dame in his 14th season with 2-1 win over Ohio State on Saturday.
Minnesota State stayed red hot with a sweep of Minnesota.
North Dakota swept Wisconsin, winning four in a row after 0-2-1 start.
Holy Cross believed to have its largest crowd in Hart Center history (2,502) for 3-0 loss vs. Providence
UMass and Providence continue to roll, will meet up Thursday and Saturday.
And UConn announced funding for a new arena, which will be only 2,500-3,500 seats, but they supposedly have waiver from Hockey East. They’ll continue to play some/all men’s games at XL Center in Hartford.
