BOSTON — Bobo Carpenter’s goal at 5:02 of overtime propelled Boston University to a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Connecticut and gives the Terriers a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.
The game featured back and forth action throughout with neither team able to successful hold a lead for long.
UConn struck first on Max Keller’s eighth goal of the season at 4:34 for the first. But 18 seconds later Jordan Greenway knotted the game for the Terriers.
Less than three minutes later, BU grabbed its first lead on Drew Melanson’s goal which required video review.
Karl El-Mir and Max Letunov each tallied in the second to give the Huskies back a lead at 3-2. Greenway spoiled things again early in the third with his second of the night.
UConn took the lead for a third time on Benjamin Freeman’s power play goal with 5:03 left. But BU again had a quick response as Chad Krys forced overtime with a goal with 3:38 left.
