Quinnipiac scored two goals in quick succession and then shut things down defensively to advance to the Frozen Four.

Christophe Fillion and Skyler Brind’Amour scored goals 15 seconds apart in the first period to put the Bobcats in the lead, and Quinnipiac earned a spot in the Frozen Four with a 4-1 victory against Ohio State on Sunday in Bridgeport, Conn.

Yaniv Perets made 34 saves as the Buckeyes outshot the Bobcats 26-9 over the final two periods.

Cristophe Tellier batted in a puck that he flipped over Ohio State goalie Jakub Dobes to put the Bobcats ahead 3-1 in the third period. Jayden Lee added an empty-net goal to clinch Quinnipiac’s first trip to the Frozen Four since 2016.

Joe Dunlap stole a pass and scored on a breakaway less than two minutes into the game to put Ohio State ahead.

But Fillion and Brind’Amour swung the game toward the Bobcats later in the opening period.
