Minnesota State’s McKay named 2022 Hobey Baker Award winner

BOSTON — Minnesota State’s Dryden McKay became the first goaltender to win the Hobey Baker Award in 21 years.

McKay, a senior, was named the 2022 Hobey winner on Friday. He beat out Denver forward Bobby Brink and Minnesota forward Ben Meyers and is the first Hobey winner for the Mavericks.

Also a top-three finalist in 2021, McKay has won an NCAA-record 38 games this season and is fourth in the country in save percentage (.934) entering Saturday’s national championship game against Denver.
