ECAC Hockey suspends Rensselaer’s Tironese one game for spearing penalty versus Colgate

ECAC Hockey announced Monday that Rensselaer sophomore forward Evan Tironese has been assessed a one-game suspension as the result of his actions in the Rensselaer-Colgate game of Saturday, Feb. 25.

The league action was taken after review of an incident that occurred at the 20-minute mark of the third period in the Engineers-Raiders contest where Tironese was assessed a major penalty for spearing and a game misconduct penalty.

Based upon the league’s action, Tironese is not eligible to compete in Rensselaer’s next game on Friday, March 3, when the Engineers travel to Clarkson.
