ECAC West picks Jan 14 to Jan 16

Manhattanville has finished off its non-conference schedule and gets a weekend off, while Utica completes off its non-conference play this weekend.  Hobart, Elmira, and Neumann all are also looking to wind up their out of league play on high notes as well.  After this weekend, each will have only a single game left outside the league.

The best game of the weekend might be Elmira at Geneseo.  The Ice Knights are one of the few teams that have played several ECAC West teams and not lost a game yet.  Elmira is still desperate to stay in the NCAA hunt and needs every win it can get and can’t let any opportunities slip through its fingers.  They could gain a leg up on the other teams with a win at Geneseo.

Last Week:  8-1

Overall:  31-8  (.795)

{predicted winners bolded}

Friday, January 14

Neumann at Morrisville -  Morrisville knocked off Plattsburgh in November but has lost to Elmira and Manhattanville from the ECAC West.

Saturday, January 15

Neumann at Morrisville – This is the only time this season that Morrisville will face the same team two nights in a row.  After seeing Neumann on Friday, the Mustangs should adjust on Saturday to take advantage of the Knights’ usual Saturday dull-drums.

Hobart at Curry –  Curry finishes off its tour of the ECAC West teams and Hobart will try to keep them 0-5 against the league.

Elmira at Geneseo –  Geneseo hasn’t lost to an ECAC West team yet, but Elmira is desperate to stay in the hunt for an NCAA bid.

Utica  at Suffolk – Utica sometimes struggles on the road but it should be able to take advantage of a Suffolk team that is allowing a goal more per game than the Pioneers are

Sunday, January 16

Hobart at Nichols – Hobart finishes off its Northeast tour against a tired Nichols team, who is playing its third game in five days.

Utica at Wentworth – Wentworth has had a week to rest up for Utica and also has a great penalty killing unit, but Utica wants to finish off its non-conference schedule on a good note.
